Author Guidelines

Authors are requested to prepare their manuscripts carefully according to the following guidelines before submitting their work to the International Journal of Social Science Research and Review (IJSSRR). Manuscripts that do not follow the journal requirements may be returned to the authors for correction before peer review.

1. General Submission Requirements

Manuscripts submitted to IJSSRR must be original, unpublished, and not under consideration by any other journal or publisher at the time of submission. Authors are responsible for ensuring that the manuscript complies with the journal’s ethical standards, formatting requirements, and reference style.

Submissions should be made through the journal’s online submission system. Authors who experience technical difficulties during submission may contact the editorial office at editor@ijssrr.com.

2. Types of Manuscripts

2.1 Research Articles

Research articles should present original research, clear research questions, appropriate methodology, and well-supported findings. A research article normally includes a title, abstract, keywords, introduction, literature review or theoretical framework where applicable, methodology, results, discussion, conclusion, and references.

2.2 Review Articles

Review articles should provide a critical and comprehensive analysis of existing literature on a specific topic. Review articles should identify key developments, debates, research gaps, and possible directions for future research.

2.3 Short Communications or Letters

Short communications or letters may present concise research findings, comments, or scholarly discussions that are relevant to the scope of the journal. These submissions should be clearly written and supported by appropriate references.

3. Manuscript Format

Manuscripts should normally be prepared in Microsoft Word format. The preferred font is Times New Roman, 11-point size, with clear spacing and consistent formatting throughout the document.

Manuscripts should generally be arranged in the following order:

  • Title
  • Author name(s) and affiliation(s)
  • Abstract
  • Keywords
  • Main text
  • Acknowledgements, if applicable
  • References
  • Appendices, if applicable
  • Tables and figures, if applicable

3.1 Title

The title should be concise, informative, and suitable for indexing. It should clearly reflect the content and focus of the manuscript.

3.2 Abstract

The abstract should briefly describe the purpose of the study, the method or approach, the main findings, and the significance of the research. The abstract should normally not exceed 300 words. Citations and undefined abbreviations should be avoided in the abstract.

3.3 Keywords

Authors should provide 3 to 6 keywords that accurately represent the main topics of the manuscript.

3.4 Main Text

The main text should be clearly organized with appropriate headings and subheadings. The language should be clear, academic, and understandable for an international readership.

3.5 Tables and Figures

Tables and figures should be numbered consecutively and placed close to where they are first mentioned in the text, or submitted separately if required by the submission system. Each table and figure should have a clear title or caption. Authors must ensure that tables and figures are original or that permission has been obtained where necessary.

4. References and Citation Style

IJSSRR recommends the use of APA style for citations and references. Authors should ensure that all sources cited in the text are included in the reference list and that all references listed are cited in the manuscript.

References should be accurate, complete, and consistently formatted. Where available, DOI links should be included.

5. Ethical Requirements

Authors must ensure that their work complies with accepted standards of publication ethics. Plagiarism, duplicate submission, data fabrication, falsification, and inappropriate authorship practices are not acceptable.

All authors listed on the manuscript should have made a significant contribution to the work and should approve the final version submitted to the journal.

Where research involves human participants, authors should confirm that appropriate ethical approval and informed consent were obtained where required.

Authors should disclose any potential conflicts of interest that may influence the research, interpretation, or publication of the manuscript.

6. Peer Review and Editorial Decision

All manuscripts submitted to IJSSRR are first checked by the editorial office for suitability, completeness, and compliance with the journal’s requirements. Manuscripts that pass the initial editorial screening are sent for peer review.

The peer review process is confidential. Reviewers are selected based on their expertise in the relevant field. Based on the reviewers’ comments and the editorial evaluation, the manuscript may be accepted, accepted with revisions, returned for major revisions, or rejected.

The final editorial decision is communicated to the corresponding author through the journal’s editorial system or by email. The review process may vary depending on the manuscript, the field of study, and reviewer availability.

7. Submission Process

Authors should submit their manuscripts through the IJSSRR online submission system. To submit a manuscript, authors should register or log in to the journal website, start a new submission, complete the required steps, and upload the manuscript file and any supplementary files if applicable.

Before submission, authors should ensure that:

  • The manuscript has not been published previously and is not under consideration elsewhere.
  • The manuscript file is prepared in an editable format such as Microsoft Word.
  • The text follows the journal formatting and reference requirements.
  • All author information is accurate and complete.
  • All references, tables, figures, and supplementary materials are included where necessary.
  • Any potential conflicts of interest have been disclosed.

8. Publication Fees

There is no submission fee. Any applicable article publication fee is stated clearly on the journal’s Author Fees page and is charged only after acceptance. Editorial decisions are independent of payment.

9. Copyright and License

Authors retain copyright of their published work and grant IJSSRR the right of first publication. Published articles are made available under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

Peer Review Process

Reviewers’ responsibilities:

The journal uses the double-blind system for peer-review; both reviewers and authors’ identities remain anonymous. The paper will be peer-reviewed by three experts; two reviewers from outside and one editor from the journal typically involve in reviewing a submission.

1. Contribution to Editorial Decisions

Peer review assists the editor in making editorial decisions and through the editorial communications with the author may also assist the author in improving the paper. Reviewers are expected to provide constructive comments on the manuscript that help the author(s) to revise the manuscript in higher standards and quality.

2. Promptness

Reviewers that feel unqualified to review the research reported in a manuscript or knows that its prompt review will be impossible should notify the editor and excuse himself from the review process.

3. Confidentiality

The reviewers should treat as confidential document any manuscripts received for review. The manuscript should not be shown to or discussed with others except as authorized by the editor.

4. Standards of Objectivity

Reviews should be conducted objectively. Personal criticism of the author is inappropriate. Referees should express their views clearly with supporting arguments.

5. Acknowledgment of Sources

Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors. Any statement that an observation, derivation, or argument had been previously reported should be accompanied by the relevant citation. A reviewer should also call to the editor's attention any substantial similarity or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and any other published paper of which they have personal knowledge.

6. Reviewer misconduct

IJSSRR will take reviewer misconduct seriously and pursue any allegation of breach of confidentiality, non-declaration of conflicts of interest (financial or non-financial), inappropriate use of confidential material, or delay of peer review for competitive advantage.
